Veni, vidi, vici

Here is our trip!

Prague

This is the first c0 co type clock. The King that commissioned it cut the clock makers eyes out after he was finished so that he couldn't make another one. Crazy hun...

This is the outside of a cathedral inside the prague castle. Gothic style cathedrals are my favorite. I will enjoy them even in the pouring rain which is what the weather was in Prague.
Here's Devin jumping on the St. Charles Bridge. Every time we walked across it, the rain would start. So we just needed to quit walking across.
A few other highlights from Prague. Going to a Salvador Dali exhibit, seeing an amazing chamber concert featuring the fine local composers, Mozart, Devotchka, Strauss I was in heaven.

LINZ

It was kind of a bust but we had an awesome hotel and by the time we got there we were so tired that we didn't care to spend a day sleeping!

This is inside a Cathedral in Linz
Devin trying to escape the castle that was more a museum than castle but the remaining walls were cool.
This art exhibit was in the ARS electronica center. A cool mix of art and electronics. This is their interpretations of Avatar.
Salzburg

Here is the view of the castle and town from the famous Mirabell Gardens you might know it from the do re mi song in the Sound of Music.

The view of the castle as we hiked to it.
Inside a cathedral that had the most beautiful frescos. The ceiling looked so celestial. I guess that's the point right?

Just another cathedral this one was in session so we couldn't go in but we enjoyed the view from the outside.
My dream of Salzburg was walking into town and there being a festival and everyone eating and dancing. Well it came true May day was upon us thankfully causing the town to shut down and the festivities to be in full force.
Here we are walking across the bridge not even knowing that my dreams were about to be fulfilled.
Salzburg also held amazing country side here I am at the bank of the lake in St. Gilgon. I was ready to jump in the water it was clear and beautiful, Devin was having to hold me back.
The cutest grave yard just outside their church. They know how to do it over there. They make the graves so that you can actually plant flowers, really pretty.
A view from the top of the Alps.
The quaint buildings in St. Gilgon.
Vienna

Because I'm lame these pics are backwards. We started our trip in Vienna but it doesn't really matter.

Jet lag is all I can say. We landed in Vienna Thursday afternoon after leaving Salt Lake Wednesday morning so you can imagine the droopy eyes we had. We were waiting for dinner and Devin just couldn't keep his eyes open.
I love all the fountains they have over there and how me and Devin's hair looks the same.
St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna
All in All LOVED Europe. The cobble stone streets, old buildings, history, and opening your eyes to the world. BUT I missed Teags who did so well while we were gone, Ice, still don't get how they can handle everything luke warm. The jet lag's crazy but worth it to see incredible places.

Austria

45It's a Major Award!!!!!

Well maybe not an awesomely provocative leg lamp but Devin did receive a major reward. In the form a trip anywhere in the world. Daunting right well we narrowed it down and we are going to Austria/Czech Republic.

How did he get this reward you ask. Devin was nominated for employee of the year at Clear Link Technologies and after pleading his case, in which he divulged his dream of owning a chocolate factory. Where else do you research for that but in Austria. So it came down that they love Devin and he is the WINNER! I know he's awesome but It's cool to see those who also think he's awesome especially when they sign the pay check.

Now we are heading to the land where The Hills Are Alive With the Sound of Music and I will be taking that tour even if Devin refuses I will go by myself and be SINGING my heart out the WHOLE time! We will also eat our weight in chocolate, cheese, schnitzel, and any baked goods that's at arms length. While taking in the incredible culture, architecture, art, weird euro cars, lush green mountains that never end, and so so so much more I just can't even wait.

***Minus the whole 10 days without Teagan I know she'll be fine I know it's good to have these experiences , but my heart still isn't ready to imagine being gone for so long. Just writing this I'm literally chocking up. So I will not think about that I will only be thinking about SCHNITZEL and the cutest pair of mother daughter lederhosen that I will be brining back for me and Teags!

I'm Back!

It's not that I don't love my blog and mean to neglect it. I've just been filling my days with other things, not cooler things just stuff. Well here they are...

First off Teagan sweet 20 monther love that she is growing up, but she thinks she is already grown up. Basically this picture says it all she doesn't like to get dressed and the only shoes she likes to wear are her rain boots because she can put them on herself. Really a cute process, and don't you love kids that have shoes on the wrong feet. I do!
Next I grew up in an artistic home my mom is an amazing artist, crafter, all the above, and I was an art major in my two years I was in college. So gratefully now that I'm home all day and have time to explore my artistic desires I'm so happy.

Here are some flowers that I made for my mom's Young Women's center piece I love how they turned out! I'm also dabbling in sewing, in which Teagan has a new skirt that I still need to work out kinks, and I have plans for a new messenger style bag for my self. We will see how that turns out.

I do still try to have some fun with Teags. So why not play in the snow because it will be gone tomorrow.
So we will take a walk. Teagan's baby really needed to get out of the house. Again how grown up is Teagan.
Lastly my winter seasonal depression has caused a mass painting epidemic in our house. I painted the cabinets, the kitchen a lovely butter yellow, dining room green, and the living room a grayish blue! I may live in a crayon box but I love color and have small rooms so if I want to change the color not a big deal!
With small rooms comes even smaller closets so I've tried to get organized in way too many ways to document. BUT this just makes me sick so I show to share my pain.

This is the after picture of our shoe disaster
I love shoes and that's okay when your the only one, but I married a shoe-aholic so in turn this is what happens. With this pile I could only get rid on ONE pair so for now we will just keep shoving them into our small closet.
Oh and mog podge ever tried it? Well you should so easy and fun! I did a frame, vase, and a box to hold ribbon so many options and Teags love to "help".
The End.

Seattle numero 5

Seattle has our hearts! I love Seattle, and I love that we have some great friends that keep us going up there at least twice a year. Here is another trip and yes that's a Buffalo and his extremely long tongue. So the pictures are in the wrong order so just bare with me. This is the Olympic Game Farm you drive in, bring whole wheat bread (FDA) to feed to the wandering animals, and enjoy your experience.... You'll see the experience if you can make it through the pics. Have I enticed you?
They train the Bear to clap, wave, stand up. So Teagan would hang out the window in the rain and clap clap clap to get the bears to mimic, and they did. SO cute, just wanted a big bear hug.
Cute Zebras well maybe not when there is constant fear that they will bite you and they are up in your face. Again get to the end.
On our way to the animals, we wanted a small burger joint quaint yummy great environment for road trips. Well we found it? We found burgers all right and they weren't bad, quaint interesting environment yes. So know think of the smell of the D.I. times 13942384 with grease on top of that. Then eat in that smell, and you have FAT SMITTY.
Did I forget to mention the place was literally covered ground to ceiling and wall to wall in christmas decoration. SMITTY loves Christmas. So the waitress tells us.
Teagan didn't know what to think of this place so she just held onto her fork and knife in case the 1981 decorations came to life.
If the Christmas decor wasn't enough clutter, the thing to do there is pin dollar bills up with pictures, business cards, your soul, and write cute little messages for all to see. So underneath everything is 20 years of dollar bills. You do the math apparently it's impossible.
I forgot to mention our fun trip had a great addition Jamie, Jamison, and cute Chase. This is us on the ferry on route!
Blurred face Teagan and Chase enjoying Pikes Market Place.
Champagne Mangos ummm more please.
The moment you've been waiting for. The main narration is Aimee she was the filming. Basically the adults were loving it and Teagan and Chase were a little terrified.

Lastly, I hope you all notice my cute new banner. Aimee so happily did it for me and now I feel like I can be a real blogger! Scott I can thank for always being our trip photographer. All these pictures were taken by him!!

A Special Thanks To...

I've HAD IT (insert scream) with what you wonder. Well just look at these pictures. I call it the Teagan Tornado. No I haven't had enough of her per say, just her whirl winds. (More screams if you want because I am inside, can't wake the Tornado.)

So it's finally time for the child locks to be put on. I know I should have done this months ago, but isn't that how life goes. I started this process last Friday and quickly realized that I needed Devin's help so process delayed. Saturday all I requested was that we get these *#$&#* locks on. Devin tries and realizes my frustration with the rock hard cabinets, tiny screw not going in, our fingers to big, and basically lack of super hero powers.

What does Devin do, well what he does best. He researches online to find adhesive locks that require zero screws. Then sees that Khols sells that brand so he is on his way. Well Khols does not sell them. Baby's R Us sure they have everything... No. Saturday down. I knew I just needed to get the drill bits from my parents but do I do that first, come on would I be here if I had.

Saturday afternoon going to see my mom main mission DRILL BITS do I get them no.
Sunday dinner at Mom's do I remember the DRILL BITS NO.
Monday drill bits all I want to do. Can't get them before the morning nap okay it will have to happen after. Success finally on the right track. Driving home beautiful weather and a magical thought pops into my head. GLEE yes I will purchase the sound track for my project of child proofing.

Get home purchase the most fantastic sing along sound track really of my life! I'm singing Teagans dancing and it's time. Get down start drill and nothing not even the drill bits that were supposed to save my life were working. The frustration boils but I just keep singing trying to stay positive. Try everything and eventually get them to what I think is pretty good not great but will do.

Move on and what has to happen Teagan walks over and with in two seconds opens the cupboard. Yes the CUPBOARD that I had just spend an hour trying to close she OPENS ahhhhhhhhhhhh. No one told me that along with everything else motherhood calls for that being a handy man was one of them. All I could do was laugh and fight the looming tears that were forming in my ducts. When what song comes on "Keep Holding On" Thank you glee I will and I will try to get this done.

Well I tried and failed but at least I had some wonderful sing a longs that kind of helped. I except defeat empty out the cupboards put the stuff in random places, put Teagan down for a nap, and watch TV.

Brad and Aisha come over to say hi tonight and I lament to them about my failure and Brad walks over little screw here little drill there and 5 minutes later they are fixed perfectly secure and all is well cabinets done. REALLY REALLY whatever I never said I was a handyman. At least I got glee out of it. Thanks for putting out this sound track now I can keep holding on!

Teagan Here

HI! Since my mom is such a blogger slacker I thought I'd tell you what I've been up to since life is always about me.
I LOVE to climb if there is the littlest thing to step on I will climb up or around or under anything. I don't get why my mom cares it really makes me so strong and it's so fun.
If my mom is getting ready to leave and is frantically looking for her phone or keys. I just forget to tell her that they are in my purse, silly mom I got your back.
Lately I've heard my mom call me Teagan Tornado a lot. I don't really get it but it's mostly after I've emptied everything in the house I thought that's what moms are for to clean up. Just helping her out.
Here is the success of my favorite climb, then I crawl over the couch slide down to the floor and back up. I'm like a cat so agile.
Me and my cousins went to wheeler farm it was so fun. I kind of thought the ducks would bite me but I would have just bit them back I'm crazy like that.

Aren't these falls leaves gorgeous it was fun to play in them.
Lastly my cool dad ran the St. George marathon he did so well and I cheered so loud for him. Yes my mom was supposed to run it too but I guess she said her hip hurt after running so much. All that matters is that St. George was so fun and, I will make sure my mom does better at updating more.
