Rice cereal anyone

Teagan didn't know what to think of this thing called rice cereal.

My laundry helper

It was so cute first she started pulling my socks over her face, then any thing she could reach. When that got old, STEAM ROLLER, into the pile. Teagan cracks me up!

Twilight... and more

Well I saw it! No I was not one of the mid night viewers, or some one carrying around a vile of my own blood around my neck. But I was amongst a crowd of overly excited women (not girls) that saw it Saturday afternoon.

I do have to say that I did enjoy it. I didn't know if I would like Robert Pattinson, Cedric Diggory, as Edward but He did well and I did find him very attractive. They stayed pretty true to the book, and it's always fun to see characters come to life. Probably the most entertaining part was every time a character was introduced the over zealous 40-60 year old women would cat call, scream, profess their undying love. Which just added extra laughs.

What really gave me the chills literally up and down my arms was the trailer to the 6th Harry Potter The Half Blood Prince. I have to say that this and the 4th are my two most favorite books of the incredible series. There will always be a special place in my heart for Harry Potter since our relationship runs really deep. We've known each other 7 years now. So since I no longer have the next book to look forward to coming out, I now have the movie. Opening night any one down?

5 months!

Today Teagan asked if she could borrow the car and when I told her no she turned around, stomped into her bed room, slammed the door and yelled how I was ruining her life.... No that was just the flash forward I had as I sat watching my precious little baby rolling across the floor. I can't believe she is 5 months old today, but what a GREAT 5 months we love you Teags.

Welcome to being a home owner.

Monday was going to be a great day. I planned to do a couple loads of laundry clean up the house, maybe get in the shower by the time Devin gets home. You know one of those great bum around the house days. So I put my laundry in first thing to get a head start. Go about doing other things. Go down to put the load in the dryer... Squish Squish........ umm....

Yes that was the sound as I stepped on to my CARPET in the basement. My heart stops, sure enough the drain that is supposed to DRAIN was so completely backed up I almost started to cry/ vomit at the disgusting water sitting there mocking me.

I call Devin to tell him that we have a flood, then I call my mom since she just recently had one so she would have  the trusty roader rooter number. I get that all set up. Call Aisha to borrow their shop vac to try and salvage our carpet. Go down and bail up the nasty back up water. Smartly go up stairs to clean the toilet and use it. Oops all the water I just bailed right back up. So I can't use any water great. couple hours later I'm about to have a bladder infection roader rooter comes. Tells me that our beautiful tree roots are growing into the pipes and that's what is causing such distress.

So all day the words of  the relator that was selling our house rang through my head. "Welcome to being a home owner. " Because part of the closing they were going to replace the water heater. It was all set up to be done the day we were closing. Didn't happen, we move in on a Saturday no hot water Sunday no hot water Monday Yeah he is to show up between 9am-midnight. Doesn't show up. The relator comes by to get her sign and give us a key, so I tell her that lame contractor hasn't shown up. she turns to me, being 6 months pregnant had to basically sponge bath myself all weekend  with water that I boiled, and says "welcome to being a home owner" I could have smacked her.

Now it's makes for great memories, that hopefully our first flood will turn into once it's all over. Thanks again Aishi and brad for the fans and shop vac.  Oh and did I mention that I have this incredible sinus infection that was just throbbing all day! ( just had to add a little more drama to the story. ) Good thing I started a blog so I could vent about this!!!!!

Dear Swaddle

Since we are in the month of November and gratitude is on my mind I thought that I owe you some thanks. When Teagan was just 3 or 4 weeks old we took you seriously and thats when she started sleeping 5 hours through the night ( and now even more). You keep Baby Teags oh so warm on these wintery nights, and when nap and bed time comes around you have taught Teagan that it's time to sleep. I will be forever grateful for you my dear friend and hope you stick around for along time. At least until she's 18 and on her own... But even then she might appreciate you every once in a while.

Yours Truly

She only makes it better...

I kind of thought that our lives would end as soon as Teagan was born, no more movies, eating out, traveling. Well I was wrong (thankfully) It's definitely changed our lives but I can safely say it's worth it. We just got back from Seattle couple weeks ago, and it was so fun. Thanks again Aimee and Scott for the fun weekend. After doing some of my most favorite clients hair. We packed up the car and drove to the most beautiful rain forest,Lake Quinault, the weather was so perfect and sunny. For a place that is know for it's rain we were lucky.

Here we are in front of the Lake isn't it so beautiful I wish I was a writer and could describe every inch of this place.
I'm not being patient enough to load more pictures but we drove to the coast the next morning. Teagan was great on the plane at least the way home. And after driving to Idaho Falls California, St. George, and flying to Seattle. I conclude that really now is the time to do this stuff while Teags is still young and able to sleep anywhere.

Return of the Halloween

Just like the Jedi, I think Halloween may return in spite of Trunk or treats (worse thing to happen to Halloween) and the many attempts to destroy the holiday like prohibiting kids to wear mask in their school parades.  This holiday was as close to dead as the Halloween movie franchise after Halloween 3, Season of the Witch. It seems like year after year there are less trick or treaters out on the streets in search of the prized full candy bar houses, but this year seemed to have picked up a bit, or maybe Halloween seemed to make a comeback like New Kids and BackStreet Boys because we have a kid now, and we get to dress her up in fun costumes. Devin is way against any costumes for Teagan that are neither as cool as Scott Heffernan or as scary as Leprechaun in Space.  We came to a compromise and went with a bat. Teagan enjoyed wearing the costume until she started profusely sweating in it.  So she had it on for about an hour.  Here is a picture of our little bat, and come on we need to bring Halloween back like Wu did Wallabee Clarks.
